TEN REASONS WHY THE SAMSUNG GALAXY S II IS THE BEST PHONE YOU CAN BUY TODAY!!!

Having gotten hold of and played around with my new Samsung Galaxy S II for a couple of weeks now, I thought I would put down the top ten reasons why I think this is not just a great phone but truly the best smart phone in the world to buy today –

1. SCREEN – The Galaxy S II has the most spectacular screen seen on any smartphone today. A 4.3 inch Super Amoled Plus screen is such a beauty that all the other smartphone manufacturers are scrambling to get a piece of Samsung LED screen components to incorporate in their phones. And those who are not able to succeed are trying to throw at the non discerning consumers other half baked variants with fancy names like retina display or Super LCD. Not only in smartphones but also in TV’s and other audio visual equipment the LED technology remains far ahead of the competition. Now add a Super and a plus as a prefix and suffix to that and see for yourself what happens. It’s like seeing the world with spects on while all this while you thought what you saw was as good as it was!!!

2. DIMENSIONS – The GS II is sleek and sexy. It is the thinnest smartphone in the world and for all the goodies and specs that it packs, Samsung have surely outdone themselves in the hardware department. No wonder they got jealous rivals suing them for alleged design infringement and trying to spoil their party…c’mon losers…all high end touch smartphones today are a slab of touch screen with few or no hardware buttons near the bottom.

3. PROCESSOR – Not only does the Galaxy S II have the fastest processor found in any smartphone so far, it is also dual core for advanced graphics and gaming. Everything works in a snap and nothing hangs or lags.

4. CAMERAS – The GS II comes with a 8 mp camera (with LED flash) at the back and a 2 mp camera in the front. Not only are the cameras great for capturing crisp photos, the front camera is 3G video calling over telephony enabled so that you can call anyone with a 3G connection without having to rely on any restrictive platform specific apps like facetime or skype.

5. HD VIDEO – The GS II not only captures video in full HD (1080p) format, it can also playback in full HD directly to the TV via the HDMI cable connection.

6. MULTIMEDIA – The GS II is a multimedia monster. Aided by its superior screen and the stereo speaker the multimedia experience that it dishes out is incomparable. Add to that the rendering of graphics in the games in WVGA resolution and high contrast colour display and it leaves the competition far behind.

7. SUPPORT – Samsung is doing a surprisingly good job with its after sales support for the flagship device. Not only has the roll out to various geographies been fast and smooth, Samsung has been swift to offer big fixes and improvements by rolling out firmware updates in quick succession.

8. UI – The Touchwiz UI, although always looked down as an inferior UI overlay as compared to HTC’s sense, Samsung has done a great job in tweaking it for the version 4.0 which comes preloaded on the GS II. With many sweet minor features that surprise you as you continue using the phone it leaves you without much longing for the Sense experience. And in any case, if you still want a different UI you can always go in for one of the many options available in the Android market.

9. BROWSING EXPERIENCE – With the big high res Super Amoled Plus Screen, fast dual core processor and flash support, the browsing experience whether it be internet or maps, is simply awesome.

10. ANDROID – Last but certainly not the least, what contributes to the GS II being the best smartphone in the world is the Android OS. With the Gingerbread version, the Android OS has matured ever so significantly. Add to that the vast market app availability and the customizability of Android and you have a platform which will continue to rule the Smartphone OS market in typical Google style at least till 2013 when Windows Phone 7 shall emerge as a serious contender for its crown.

I could go on and on…but I guess this is as geeky as one would like to show oneself to be. So for those of you remotely interested in upgrading to something far better than the cookie cutter berries and iphones of the world I have posted some links below.

I would only end by saying that the Samsung Galaxy S II is without a doubt the best smart phone in the galaxy and is my favourite gadget (until the next one comes along ;))
